Abstract
Recent advance in therapy for pediatric hematologic neoplasm have greatly improved the prognosis but have resulted in an increased incidence of associated complications. Two children with systemic malignancies(defined as neoplasm originating outside of the nervous system) suffered cerebrovascular accidents.
The initial symptoms were severe mental change, seizure and motor weakness and directly related to disseminated intravascular coagulation in these patients. It is concluded that cerebrovascular accidents are a relatively serious cause of acute neurologic compromise in children with hemato-oncologic malignancy suffered disseminated intravascular coagulation. Children with malignancy are theoretically at high risk developing cancer-associated cerebrovascular accidents. We confirmed these cases by clinical symptoms and signs, brain MR imaging and performed the rehabilitation management and follow up. So we report with a brief review of the literature.
